used to be the best quick stop, friendly, but now all new people, totally opposite. Will just make the trip up the road to a store on 79 instead of spending my money there!
I was excited when I moved to Hutto to see that there was a small, family owned grocery store, reminiscent of the grocery store in the town that I grew up in. Most family owned grocery stores have been forced to close, unable to compete with the emergence of corporate chain grocery stores which have come to monopolize the market. So I was happy to give them my patronage... until the first time I went there and found that this "grocery store" is little more than a convenience store. Useful if you live nearby and just need milk or eggs, but not a destination for your weekly grocery shopping trips.
Decent selection and price for convenience store. I've been coming in for 6-7 years, and it literally seems like a training ground for rude unappreciative cash register clerks. The owner seems like a nice normal guy, but once or twice a year he gets a new shipment of workers from overseas and lets them act like smug smart a$$es to the customers.
Prices are high but it's close and they have a good selection of dry food. Service varies depending on who's working.
The cashier's are very pleasant.
